The Houston Astros are in a bit of a free-fall, losers of three-straight games, and seven of their last nine. Unfortunately for them, it’s coming at the worst possible time, as they’ve seen their near-season-long grasp of first place in the AL West taken away by the Texas Rangers, with whom they’re currently in the midst of a four-game set.
On Wednesday night, the team once again did not have much to cheer about, as they were beaten rather soundly 14-3 to drop one and a half games back. But with the game well in hand in the top of the eighth inning, Evan Gattis stepped to the plate with a runner on, and promptly did this:

That should not be possible. A human being should not be able to turn on a 93 mph fastball, and promptly hit it 350 feet using only one hand, and without batting gloves, no less.
Gattis came over to the Astros back in January in a trade from the Braves for a pair of minor-leaguers. It’s been a fairly typical season for him, with a .240 batting average and 24 home runs. But as you can see in the clip above, he still has ridiculous power when he finally does make contact.
