We all know a Batman solo movie is coming. DC and Warner Bros. have Ben Affleck and Chris Terrio already working on the DC Cinematic Universe, and they put out the Oscar-winner Argo. Affleck being Batman is just the icing on the cake for this one, but they still have to pretend it’s up in the air, apparently.
Total Film’s rather lengthy look at Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice includes a sidebar about the Bat-films, and it more or less boils down to Affleck totally needing to clear his schedule first and then maybe they’ll talk about it.
Look, if I could make it work, yeah, obviously it would be like a dream. The trick is, as to any movie, is to make sure that you- if you’re going to direct it- that you can make it good. You’ve got to have the right idea and the right take on it. Broadly speaking, it’s something I’d be open to, for sure. It’s a very exciting idea.
Uh huh, sure, right, okay, you’re only going to consider directing a massive hit if you can scrounge up a few spare hours. It’s clear what’s actually going on, though: They don’t have a script yet, and, reasonably, nobody wants to commit until said script is written. Don’t be surprised, though, if once Affleck is done with Live by Night and Justice League, he’s directing himself in the suit.
