Larry David made another return to Saturday Night Live last night, stealing the show for the second time this season. On top of that, he stole it from one of the biggest peacocks in the 2016 presidential election race: Donald Trump.
As we covered, David took the bait and called Trump a racist during a bit in the candidate’s opening monologue. It was an intended joke, with David adding that he was out to get the $5,000 dollar “bounty” promised to whoever would do it during the show. And even though it was a joke, Deport Racism tweeted out that they will honor David’s comments with the reward:
#LarryDavid wins the $5,000 "bounty" from https://t.co/PcIfWXCmnT for calling Trump a Racist on #SNL. Joke or not, it was true. Go Larry!

It’s hard to believe that David would take the money from the group, but it seems that they are happy with it, joke or not. And honestly, it was likely the best moment of the night. The show managed to highlight the protests and controversy surrounding the show without actually addressing it in a serious way. Everybody got to save face for the most part and the show can continue on past this day. There is a morning after and Larry David held on to own the night. Congrats on the money, it’s going to buy a lot of Pinkberry.
Oh and hey, he even got to play Bernie Sanders again. So that’s like a triple win.
