The likability index of Dave Grohl and his band Foo Fighters can only be matched by perhaps a few things in greater pop culture. One of those things just happens to be an American institution and the cast of its own docu-comedy series — The Muppets. And lucky for us, the two force will be colliding in December.
Per Entertainment Weekly, Grohl will appear in the Dec. 1 episode “Going, Going, Gonzo,” where he challenges Dr. Teeth And The Electric Mayhem drummer Animal to a good, old-fashioned drum off. The episode will also star The Night Before‘s Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
Oddly enough, this isn’t the first time that Dave Grohl has clashed with the Muppets. He appeared in their 2011 film as Animool — ironically, a knockoff of Animal — in a crappy motel band version of the famous band called the Moopets.

While there may be a bit of turmoil backstage (in real life, not puppets fighting each other), hopefully an episode like this can bring a bit of positive attention to the show. If a frog singing “The Rainbow Connection” on a log isn’t something America wants, well I’m not certain I even know who or what we are anymore. Probably busy, would be the best answer.
