Evgeni Malkin has had plenty of highlight reel goals in his career, but the Pittburgh Penguins forward submitted quite possibly his finest in a long time on Tuesday night against the Minnesota Wild.
During the second period of the Pens’ game at home, Malkin entered the offensive zone and received a pass from a teammate. As a Minnesota defender closed in on him, Malkin took the pass and slid in through his own legs in one smooth, fluid motion to dangle past the Wild player and give himself space for a chance at the net.
As we’ve seen him do so many times, Malkin executed the finish with precision, beating goaltender Devan Dubnyk. That’s some video game type stuff.
