Like many others throughout the world, the American Music Awards wanted to show their sympathy towards Paris after the horrific terrorist attacks that befell the city. After Jared Leto gave a passionate intro about his time in Paris, including recounting a performance at the now sadly infamous Le Bataclan venue that was part of the attacks, Celine Dion went into a special rendition of Edith Piaf’s “Hymne à L’Amour” that left much of the audience in tears.
