Fair or not, Rockets shooting guard James Harden has built quite the reputation regarding his efforts on defense. Those deficiencies have been exaggerated to an extent, but it’s in no small part due to plays like this one against the Knicks on Sunday. Late in the first half, when Lance Thomas took an outlet pass on the break, he inadvertently collided with Jason Terry. It was a no-call, but Harden insisted on arguing with the official while he allowed Thomas to dart right by him for an uncontested layup.
Harden wasn’t so great with the score knotted at 101 and a chance to win at the buzzer, either.
