There isn’t always a lot of work for intelligent, sass-talking robots out there, so when a new Star Wars movie comes along, you know Tom Servo and Crow of MST3K are trying out for parts. Tom, being Tom, thinks he’s trying out for Kylo Ren, and Crow ends up hung up on why some droids in the Star Wars universe are fluent in six million languages while others can only beep. Good question. Of course both of them end up landing Star Wars: The Force Awakens parts. The auditions were really just a formality.

For those who haven’t been keeping up with the return of Mystery Science Theater, Crow and Tom Servo will now be played by comedians Hampton Yount and Baron Vaughn, respectively. I believe they’re playing the parts in the above video, although I’m super terrible at recognizing voices. If they are, it seems like we’re in good robot hands.

As of now, the MST3K Kickstarter is sitting at around $3.7 million, which is enough cash for six episodes. If we can push that number to $4.4 million, we’ll get nine episodes. $5.5 million gets us 12. There’s only one week left, so kick in if you haven’t yet and keep circulating the link!
