Pro tip: If you attempt to do Adam Schefter’s job, it probably won’t work out so well for you. On Wednesday, rumors were swirling about the one-game suspension New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham, Jr. received for his antics during Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers, during which he was flagged four times for personal foul penalties. Beckham was appealing the suspension, which would leave him out entirely for the Giants’ Dec. 27 game against the Minnesota Vikings.
By Wednesday afternoon, ESPN analys Ron Jaworski reported that sources were giving him the impression that Beckham’s one-game suspension would be overturned in a since-deleted tweet:
However, roughly 20 minutes later, Jaws went back on his claim, adding that he would leave the NFL reporting to the experts — ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Chris Mortenson.
Well, whichever “NYC sources” Jaws was getting information from were apparently way off, as by 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, it was announced that the league would be upholding Beckham’s suspension. You guessed it — Schefter himself — was first to report the news.
Odell Beckham Jr.'s one-game suspension stands. Suspension upheld. Giants will not have OBJ vs. Vikings.

Moments after the decision was made public. Beckham took to Twitter to issue a statement about his appeal, and to apologize for his actions during Sunday’s game.

Good job, good effort Jaws. Beckham is expected to be fully reinstated with the Giants when they face the Philadelphia Eagles on Jan. 3.
