That ‘Friends’ ‘Reunion’ Is Missing One Of The Friends

The five stages of Friends reunion grief, using the Kübler-Ross (!) model:

DENIAL: I don’t care what anyone says: If all six cast members from Friends are in a room together, it counts as a Friends reunion. They’re not playing Monica, Rachel, Phoebe, Chandler, Joey, and Ross — they’re Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, and American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson‘s David Schwimmer, honoring the legendary television director James Burrows — unless that’s what NBC wants us to think. I see what you’re doing, Robert Greenblatt. (No, I don’t.)

ANGER: WHAT DO YOU MEAN GUNTHER WON’T BE THERE?

BARGAINING: Okay, okay. I’ll trade no Gunther (and Marcel) for at least having all the main Friends appear in the same physical location on Feb. 2.

DEPRESSION: *sigh*

Now sources confirm that Matthew Perry isn’t coming — he’s in rehearsals for his London play, The End of Longing, as first reported by USA Today. NBC is still confident he’ll contribute in some way. (Via)

ACCEPTANCE: Eh, I’d prefer a NewsRadio reunion, anyway.
