So, this is Dallas Mavericks big man Dirk Nowitzki with a new haircut. No big deal, right? Everyone gets haircuts. Apparently not so much. It turns out that Dirk’s haircut was, in fact, a huge deal to his teammates. Per Dirk’s Twitter profile, teammates were calling him Ellen DeGeneres because of his new style.
“It’s so bad,” Chandler Parsons said to The Dallas Morning News. “He came in here, too, feeling himself, thinking that we were going to love it. Everybody, we had ballboys crushing him, from coaches to everybody on the team. I have a feeling he’s going to change it soon because he can’t take the beating we’re giving him.”

Center Zaza Pachulia wasn’t much kinder, noting that Dirk should probably crop it all off and embrace baldness:
“He got called so many names, I can’t even tell you,” Pachulia told the newspaper. “If I were him, I would just totally shave it, do something about it. Obviously we were the first ones who saw it, then the staff, coaches, ballboys, everybody was giving him a hard time.
“But, hey, he’s a great guy. You can tell he’s a great guy because he takes the jokes. He takes it as a man. If he really cuts his hair, that means he took it personal, but as you see (by his tweet), he didn’t take it personal. He wants to have fun. Especially because he didn’t play; so he had to do something.”
Nowitzki was being rested Sunday and did not play against the Phoenix Suns.
Now, as for the haircut: Does Dirk look like Ellen? Except for the fact the color and style aren’t the same, and that Dirk is a 7-foot tall man while Ellen is most definitely not 7-foot tall and a woman, yes, I can see the resemblance.
