Fans of Star Wars look at The Phantom Menace as the odd man out of the series. Well, maybe Attack of the Clones… Either way — the podracing scene in Episode 1 is loved by some, hated by many, enjoyed on N64 and PS2 in videogame form by a few, and has made its way to the most current generation of systems through the Halo 5 Forge.
If you’re not familiar with Halo‘s Forge, it was introduced to gamers in Halo 3 in 2007. Since then, it has come a long way from its roots as a clunky tool to barely mod maps. Now, in Halo 5, Forge is a canvas on which the Halo community can create just about anything. Like mongoose sumo/bumper cars, unique, hardcore hunter/killer maps variants and classic maps left out of the current multiplayer map rotation.
Just look at this joy:
Created by Captain Direwolf, the Boonta Eve Classic featured on Tatooine was created using a welding glitch in Forge using advanced methods. Most creators wouldn’t be able to pull off the impressive work that had to be done in order to make this race a reality in Halo, but he did it. And now we can relive little Anakin Skywalker’s greatest moment.
Best part: if you die, you can snipe your opponents from the stands just like sand people.
