The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has unveiled this year’s slate of inductors for their 2016 go-around of telling popular recording artists they did a swell job. It hasn’t been revealed who will be inducting who (NOT A SEX THING) at the April 8 shindig at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, but it seems safe to connect the dots on one of the potential combos. Maybe two, actually.
Kendrick Lamar, The Black Keys, sultan of “Smooth” Rob Thomas and Metallica’s Lars Ulrich have been tapped to make speeches and say glowing things about this year’s crop of enshrined acts. It seems like a safe bet that Lamar will induct fellow Compton hip-hop heroes N.W.A. at the event, although we have a perverse interest in seeing the dude from Matchbox Twenty give that a go. Cheap Trick, Chicago, Deep Purple and Steve Miller will also be going in, which means you can try to guess who might induct whom this spring. Ulrich seems likely for Deep Purple, we reckon.
