The Everything Donut Has Arrived, Bringing Us To The Pinnacle Of Food Fusion

Forget sushirritos and cronuts. Come on. Those combos are for amateurs. The new mashup in town is the Everything Doughnut from NYC’s Doughnut Project. With a cream cheese glaze holding in the classic everything bagel topping of sesame seeds, poppy seeds, pepitas, garlic, and sea salt, it’s sure to—

Wait. Can I just be real for a second? What in the f*cking world? They’ve put garlic on a doughnut? I mean, sea salt I get. But garlic? Pepitas?

The Doughnut Project is promoting the doughnut as a choice for the person having trouble deciding between a doughnut and a bagel. Because, get it? You get the best of both worlds. The sweet pastry of the doughnut, the topping of the everything bagel.

Reaction to the doughnut seems to be mostly positive, with fans responding to The Doughnut Project’s Instagram post with comments like, “What is this mischief?” “OMG OMG OMG,” and “My soul is touched in ways I can’t even speak of.” (Easy, pal. It’s a doughnut.)

A few Instagrammers have even tried it out for themselves already:

The general consensus seems to be that the Everything Doughnut is decent, but that the sweet frosting doesn’t play nice with the savory toppings. So maybe it’s best to stick to that $100 doughnut from the Manila Social Club?

All skepticism notwithstanding, if I were in NYC, I would pick up one of these in a heartbeat.
