Of the eight biggest categories at the 2016 Oscars, Uproxx’s Jen Chaney correctly predicted the winner for six of them (we whiffed on Spotlight winning Best Picture and Mark Rylance over Sylvester Stallone, but so did everyone, much to Frank Stallone’s dismay). That’s pretty good prognosticating, but it’s nothing compared to Erinn Hayes, who somehow knew that Spotlight and Rylance would triumph in mildly shocking upsets, and that Kevin Hart would wear a Dolce and Gabbana sequin tuxedo.
Rabbi Jewy McJewJew himself, David Wain, tweeted a clip from Adult Swim’s Childrens Hospital — now in its seventh season of being the saddest show on television to Google — and added, “Looks like #ChildrensHospital predicted the Oscars! Check out this scene we shot the day BEFORE the awards…”
You can tell it was the day before the Oscars, because Hayes, as her character Dr. Lola Spratt, holds up a copy of the New York Times from Saturday, February 27, 2016, yet she still somehow knew host Chris Rock would call Jamie Foxx “one of the best actors in the world.” So, either Hayes is supernaturally good at predicting, or she somehow got her hands on a Grays Oscars Almanac 1950-2020, Biff-style. I can think of no other explanation.
Anyway, shabbat shalom, Leonardo DiCaprio.
