Miley Cyrus And Alicia Keys Set To Join The Coaching Ranks On ‘The Voice’

Fans of The Voice, prepare yourself for more change. Come next season, there will be two new coaches.

That’s right, Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys are coming to the NBC singing competition series, replacing Pharell Williams and Christina Aguilera. Cyrus has served as “an advisor” during this current season, and will move up the ranks come the fall. Williams will sit the next season out but return in the future, according to a report on Deadline. As for Aguilera, she alternates between seasons of the show, making next season her time to temporarily step away.

The inclusion of Keys and Cyrus will mark the first time The Voice has counted multiple women among its cast of coaches. Previously, both Shakira and Gwen Stefani have served as fellow female coaches in addition to Aguilera. Blake Shelton and fellow The Voice lifer Adam Levine will return for next season, the show’s 11th.

Keys was seen most recently on the smash Fox series Empire while Cyrus, is sort of everywhere. As well as serving in her advisor capacity on the current season of The Voice, she also appeared in the Netflix special A Very Murray Christmas, the Seth Rogen movie The Night Before and will be seen in the upcoming Amazon series from Woody Allen.
