If your main complaint with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was, “Well, there were a lot of CrossFit montages, but I could have used more” (maybe that’s what Kevin Smith meant?), I have some good, brooding news for you. Ben Affleck, who reportedly rewrote the BvS script on set while “suited up for the day in his Batman suit,” has penned his own Batman movie… with blackjack and hideous back tattoos. In fact, forget the Batman movie!
William Morris Endeavor’s co-CEO Patrick Whitesell told the Hollywood Reporter that Affleck is “contracted to do at least Justice League One and Two, so at least three times wearing the cape,” and that he’s written a script “that is a really cool [the Dark Knight] idea, so that’s out there as an option.”
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard about the Batfleck’s Batman script — he admitted to working on “a project” with DC’s creative head Geoff Johns — but this is the first time it’s been confirmed by someone who wasn’t in Gigli. There’s an idea. The Joker finagles a way to play Gigli on every screen in the world 24/7 unless the world’s greatest detective, Batman, can stop him.
Ben Affleck’s Batman v Gigli: It’s Turkey Time, out 2019.
