The Italian dining chain/suburban lunch compromise/enabler of Lucifer known as Olive Garden is adding a few things to its menu. Are breadsticks involved? YOU’RE DAMN RIGHT, THEY ARE! (C’mon, this is Olive Garden we’re talking about.) That’s not the star attraction among the restaurant’s new eats, mind you.
Arriving in time to fit into your summer meal rotation is the introduction of “spaghetti pie.” Aside from sounding like a thing that’s dirty but isn’t, Buzzfeed reports this offering will come in Meatball Deep Dish and Chicken Alfredo form. Here’s what this bellystuffer consists of: “Both use spaghetti, plastered into pie form by seven cheeses and baked with bacon.”
It’s a national sport taking pops at how Olive Garden sometimes more “authentic adjacent” than “authentic” when it comes to Italian cuisine, but this spaghetti pie’s lineage really is Italian. Here’s a quick visual of what the Chicken Alfredo version looks like. If it looks like your cup of tea (pie?), you should be able to snap this up through July.

Right, back to the breadsticks. Olive Garden continues to go hard on using these dependable edible options, which has led to two more breadstick sandwiches joining the menu. Eggplant Parmigiana and spicy Calabrian chicken are now amongst the breadstick sandwich ranks.
Do either of these menu additions do anything for you or your stomach? Give your verdict in the comments.
