Between filming seasons of Game of Thrones, Kit Harington is currently starring in a West End production of Doctor Faustus in London, where he treated fans to not just a moving performance, but to a brand-new face. Yes, Harington’s famous Jon Snow beard was gone as of Thursday, documented by those who were lucky enough to snap a selfie with the actor.

What does it all mean? Will it grow back in time for the next season of Game of Thrones? Of course, fans took Harington’s drastic new look completely in stride, and… Ha ha ha ha, just kidding.
