Craig Sager Learns He’s A Cancer Patient’s Inspiration, Immediately FaceTimes Him

NBA fixture Craig Sager has long been known for his incredible suits and lights-out reporting, but because of what he has done during his battle with cancer, he’s going to be forever known and remembered as an absolute inspiration.

On Thursday night, Sager was working his first-ever NBA Finals game – as unbelievable as that seems. Before the game, he placed a FaceTime call to Pitt Panthers running back James Conner, a fellow cancer survivor, after Sager learned Conner viewed him as an inspiration. You can watch that video above.

ESPN related how this all went down.

Conner’s mentor and family friend Mike Gallagher was shooting Game 6 of the Finals for WJET in Conner’s hometown of Erie, Pennsylvania, and said he was chatting before the game with Sager, whom Gallagher said was familiar with Conner’s story and asked if he could call the football player.

Did you know Craig Sager was the best dude ever? Because he absolutely, totally is.
