Back when he was still firmly Aubrey, Drake starred in the 2007 film Charlie Bartlett alongside Anton Yelchin. Drake played A/V Jones, classmate to Yelchin’s titular character. After the news of the young actor’s death, Drake paid tribute to Yelchin by posting a set photo of himself alongside the late actor with the caption “Rest in Peace Anton.”

Yelchin — best known for playing Chekov in J.J. Abrams’ rebooted Star Trek films — died in a freak car accident over the weekend. The 27-year-old actor died after being pinned between his car and his mailbox, and many of Yelchin’s collaborators and fellow actors are expressing shock over the death of the actor who wowed in movies like Green Room.

After news of Yelchin’s death spread, Abrams posted a handwritten note to Twitter expressing his grief over the loss.

“Anton —
You were brilliant. You were kind. You were funny as hell, and supremely talented. And you weren’t here nearly long enough.
Missing you…
JJ”

That last bit is especially true: Yelchin’s career was far too short, but filled with excellent performances. Anyone looking for a primer on Yelchin’s talents could do worse than this supercut, put together in the wake of his death.
