This Incredible Movie Theater Will Make You Want To Visit South Korea

Do you ever feel cramped at the movie theater? Is there always someone trying to ‘share’ your arm rest? Do the screens just keep getting smaller and smaller so theater owners can fit more and more screens in their multiplex? Are you tired of the same old popcorn and roller-roasted hot dogs?

We feel your pain, and the good people over at Lotte World Tower in Seoul, South Korea, really feel your pain. They’ve built a movie theater in the country’s tallest building that will make us all jealous. Their first rule is to be awesome. They’ve accomplished this by building the world’s largest 35mm projected screen. It’s actually bigger than an IMAX screen and certified by the Guinness Book of World Records. For a few dollars more, you can upgrade from regular seats to seats with two separate arm rests with cup holders for each of your beers. Even better, you can get a table in between you and whoever’s sitting next to you. Maybe you can get in a game of quarters before the movie starts? For another dollar or two, you can upgrade to fully reclining lazy-boys with a table. Or, if that’s still not luxe enough, you can straight up get a fully adjustable bed with pillows and blankets. (Let’s hope those sheets get changed often.)

The perks don’t stop there. Lotte World Tower Cinemas also provide you with noise canceling Beats by Dre with full surround sound (and probably still too much bass). All of that is before you even get to the snacks and drink. Beer is a must — as are salted fried squid. If you’re hungrier, the restaurant serves a full international menu food with bespoke cocktails.

Those day old nachos down at the AMC suddenly aren’t as exciting as they used to be.
