Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell, according to ESPN’s Dan Graziano, is facing a four-game suspension because of a missed drug test, not a failed one. This would be Bell’s second-straight season-opening suspension for a substance-related violation, as he missed the first two games last season following his arrest for DUI and marijuana possession in 2014.

Graziano said the suspension hasn’t been announced yet because the appeal process has yet to take place. It’s believed the date for the appeal will be before the season begins, and if Bell loses, it will cost him four games.

After he was suspended last season, Bell had this to say during his apology tour, via Behind the Steel Curtain:

“(Marijuana is) something I easily can set by,” Bell said. “If I wanna do it later on down my life, I’ll enjoy it later on. It’s something that got me in trouble. Football is what I love. I love the game of football, and nothing will come to jeopardize that. I don’t want anything…performance enhancing drugs, marijuana, alcohol-whatever it may be- women, anything that can get you in trouble, make me possibly miss football, it’s something I don’t want to deal with.”

Perhaps he overslept for this drug test? There’s no mention from him about sleep, so maybe that’s what got him this time.
