First, the fun news: hey, look, for Halloween Katy Perry dressed up as Jane, the best friend of the titular character from MTV’s angst-ridden cartoon classic, Daria! That’s cool! Even better, the woman who went as Daria is Shannon Woodward from Warming Glow favorite Raising Hope. I’m glad Russell Brand isn’t around anymore, otherwise he’d ruin Trent for me. Plus, the whole Trent/Jane incestous thing would be weird.
In less fun news, Katy Perry is sullying the minds of our innocent children with her “f*cking cum gun,” at least according to Crystal Castles’ Alice Glass in an interview with NME. The electro-goth group singer said:
Crystal Castles’ Alice Glass has hit out at against a mainstream media which she says “hates women”.
“We need an army because the mainstream hates women,” Glass says in this week’s NME, which is on newsstands from today and available digitally.
“I think a lot of kids are more sexualised now than they were now than they were years ago and I’m not sure it’s a coincidence,” she says. “Like f*cking Katy Perry spraying people with her f*cking d*ck, her f*cking cum gun coming on f*cking children. And little girls, like six-year-old girls wearing a shirt with ‘I wanna see your [pea] c*ck’ on it”
She added: “Don’t prey on vulnerable people like that. Don’t encourage little girls to get dressed up, to have cupcakes on their tits to get people to lick them off ‘cos that’s what you’re insinuating.” (Via)
I have no idea what she’s talking about. But seriously, “Firework” is a great song.
