Times have changed tremendously since we were all grade school kids. For starters, we played with with actual blocks and LEGOs whereas children of today now have Minecraft and whatever games they’re losing their sight on thanks to countless hours staring at a screen. Another difference is the actual teachers. No, we’re not at the point of robots yet. We’re talking teachers who look absolutely nothing like the bag of bones and geriatric skin that taught us long division and our times tables.

A fourth grade Georgia teacher is the subject of controversy for dressing “too sexy” for school. Many of Paris Monroe’s pictures show her covered up with dresses falling below the knee, but it’s her curves in skin-tight dresses that has social media jumping with opinion.
“Who wears a body con to teach CHILDREN??!!??? Wtf?! I just feel like the dress is too tight for a teacher,” tweeted STFUashleeee who also said that there was a “certain place” to wear “certain things” like the dresses Monroe wears to work. Another commenter, KristyApril, shared similar sentiments, writing, “It’s inappropriate for school, period. Wayyy too tight.” A parent flat-out said she wouldn’t allow her child to attend Monroe’s class. “This teacher and this bodycon dress…my child would not be attending her class..idc idc idc.”
On the flip side, some supporters think Monroe is sexy no matter what she wears. “It has nothing to do with the type of clothes she’s wearing” Naty writes. “She exudes sex appeal…she’s sexy in anything. She’s a sexy teacher, get over it.” Others think it’s up to parents not to sexualize Monroe’s body, adding to the conversation, “You could always just, ya know.. not sexualize it?”

Judging from her other classroom pictures, it looks like even something as simple as jeans and a t-shirt will garner feedback from concerned parents. “As a parent of a fifth grader, I’d probably be a little thrown off if I walked into parent-teacher conferences and saw an educator wearing tight-fitting clothing like hers,” one parent told UPROXX. “But, the dresses seem to be classy, not tacky and it’s not her fault that God blessed her with a beautiful figure. Not sure if she needs to loosen up or if we, as parents and a community, need to loosen up a bit.”
UPROXX reached out to an educator who said teacher dress code in public schools can be vague at times. “In most cases, administration makes it known that teachers should dress professionally,” our source said. “Unfortunately what’s professional looking on one may look like club gear on another. It’s a really a slippery slope.”
