‘Captain America: Civil War’ Meets ‘Marvel Vs. Capcom’ In This Hilarious Clip

Really, the main pitch of Captain America: Civil War was “watch superheroes fight each other.” Which was a bit of shame, since Zemo was rebuilt into the best villain the franchise has had since Loki. But then again, it’s hard to complain too much when you’ve got the directors of John Wick playing with superheroes in your action scenes. The only thing missing, it turns out, was the right dialogue and sound effects.

Twitter user and editor Frobman swapped out everything in the fight scenes with audio from the Marvel Vs. Capcom games, and it’s truly a thing of beauty. It really does emphasize that what that fight was really missing, except from Spidey, was a few one-liners. We get that Black Panther and Winter Soldier aren’t really a barrel of laughs, but Tony doesn’t have a few smart-ass remarks saved for a special occasion?

It also makes us wonder when Marvel will loosen up and let Capcom back in to play with their characters. Capcom’s license with Marvel expired in 2014, which means all the Marvel Vs. Capcom games are currently impossible to sell. But we’re hopeful. There’s no just world where you can’t do Wolverine’s super move on Ryu.
