After a lengthy search and weeks of rumors that have all turned out to be true, the news has hit that Young Lando Calrissian will, in fact, be played by the internet’s favorite almost-Spider-Man, Donald Glover, according to StarWars.com.

Directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the team behind the 21 Jump Street franchise and The Lego Movie, the still-untitled origin story will follow Han Solo (Alden Ehrenreich) as he builds his reputation as a smuggler and, presumably, finds the love of his life. By that we mean the Millennium Falcon. Leia isn’t in this story at all.

Glover’s casting confirms that the movie will be filling in some backstory about the roguish smuggler and how he became buddy-buddy with the mayor of Cloud City. Glover, of course, is best known for his television work, starring as Troy in Community and in one of the most relevant GIFs in modern history, and for his critically acclaimed FX series Atlanta. He’s also an experienced comedy writer, having worked on 30 Rock, and a talented musician, who records under the name Childish Gambino. So if Disney decides Han and Lando chuck it all in their ’20s to become MCs, at least we’ll be in good hands. We’ll see if that happens in 2018.
