If you’re a fan of the highly specific genre of “New York bands that allegedly saved rock ‘n’ roll in the early 2000s, only to drift further and further away from their guitar-based sound on their last albums,” then we have good news for you: The Strokes and Yeah Yeah Yeahs both released new songs today.
Well, Yeah Yeah Yeahs released a teaser of a new song, “Always,” set to be released on their upcoming album Mosquito, while Julian Casablancas & Co. counter with the full-length “All the Time” from Comedown Machine. It’s unfair to make too strong of an evaluation about “Always,” but the buzzy “All the Time” is, unlike the keyboard-and-falsetto heavy “One Way Trigger,” quite good. It could fit in nicely on Room on Fire. Hear ’em below.
