Five years ago, Kanye West released 808s and Heartbreaks, his most experimental and polarizing album to date. The album was dark and came on the heels of Yeezy losing his mother and having his engagement called off. 808’s was Kanye at his darkest.
Fast forward to 2013 and Mr. West is dropping an album while he’s dating a knocked up Kim Kardashian who may or may not still be related to Kris Humprhies and is the victim of songs by Ray J. Which means Kanye may have reached his new all-time depression. His new album drops on June 18th and from what we’ve heard, it’ll be just as dark as anything Kanye has released before.
And judging from this video, we may be getting treated to more auto-tune. The video is mostly ambient noise and Kanye singing his heart out through his soundbox. But you may not have to worry about this song making the album as Kanye tends to do these rant-y auto-tune songs just for his live shows without any intention of them making his album. Who knows….just enjoy the fact we’re going to get a new Kanye West album in a little more than a month.
Update: Huff Po has the transcript of Kanye’s anti-paparazzi rant from the same show. He says nice things about people. No. No he doesn’t.

I don’t know if you know there’s one thing about me, but I’m the worst kind of celebrity … Because I only make real music … I’m only up in the studio to make real sh-t … I don’t want nobody coming up to me with cameras and sh-t … Selling pictures to a f–king magazine … Asking me dumb f–king questions … Because I’m not a motherf–king celebrity … I only make music that inspires you to be the best you can be — And I don’t want anyone to ask anything else of me.
“Someone asked me, ‘When you do ‘SNL,’ are you going to do a skit about the paparazzi and humanize yourself? What the f–k do I have to apologize for? When did I become inhuman? Or was it them demonizing me and harassing me that made me less than human?
“Motherf–kers chasing people down and making you run into sh-t, and all they want you to do is laugh and sh-t. Hell no I ain’t doing no ‘SNL’ skits, this is my goddamn life, and it’s not a f–king joke.”
