I’ll always be a bit of a sucker for a music video done a bit differently, with a little whimsical imagination, that is able to hold my attention for the duration of the song. The video for “New Direction” by Black Lips does just that.
In it we find our Atlanta-based, self-described “flower punk” heroes floating over mountains and through the clouds Peter Pan-style with the help of green screen technology. As Vice notes, it’s also “a preview for the fifth installment of the Scion A/V Video Series, which launches in earnest with 10 new videos by a variety of artists on Tuesday, July 19th.” Enjoy.
