Oh man — Jane’s Addiction. That band’s tunes bring back some great memories, and in a few weeks they’ll be releasing The Great Escape Artist, their first new album since 2003 (Apparently, Dave Navarro has decided to take some time off from directing porn.) The video for “Irresistible Force,” the first release off the album, is all sorts of fun. Frontman Perry Farrell recently told Rolling Stone that “Irresistable Force” is the band’s sexual take on the Big Bang Theory, saying, “The Big Bang was actually sexual intercourse, like cosmic sexual intercourse.” Um, okay, whatever! Sounds fine by me! Anyway, enjoy the song and the video.
One last thing though — my Uproxx comrade and friend Drew Magary over at Kissing Susy Kolber wrote a novel called The Postmortal. I finally got a chance to read it over the weekend, largely thanks to Hurricane Irene, and it’s pretty damn great. Of course, if you’re familiar with Drew’s mind and his writing, this won’t surprise you. Anyway, get the book. You can thank me later.
