Law & Order: SVU (NBC, 9:00 p.m.) – After a long, multi-show career, Richard Belzer’s Sergeant John Munch retires on tonight’s SVU. Some are saying this is the last we’ll see of Munch in a regular capacity, but I choose to believe it’s setting the stage for a new, exciting chapter titled Law & Order: The Villages, in which he retires to the Florida seniors’ community and tries to relax, but his detective juices keep kicking in and causing him to investigate wrongdoing at the facility. “Tonight on Law & Order: The Villages, WHO KEEPS STEALING MRS. BEASLEY’S PUDDING?”
South Park/Key & Peele (Comedy Central, 10 p.m.) – The Goth Kids are back on South Park. I really shouldn’t have to say anything else. (UPDATE: Tonight’s episode is postponed due to a power outage.)
Toy Story of TERROR! (ABC, 8:00 p.m.) – An undoubtedly cutesy Halloween special featuring the gang from the Pixar franchise. Got kids? Point them at the TV for this. Or don’t. Or do and say you didn’t. They’re your kids.
It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia/The League (FXX, 10-11:00 p.m.) – Speaking of Pixar-y stuff, how great was Charlie’s dream sequence on last week’s Sunny? That show has been on fire this year.
Modern Family (ABC, 9:00 p.m.) – So there’s a long profile of Kobe Bryant at Sports Illustrated today, and way down at the end, in a paragraph about what he did while he was resting after his Achilles surgery, we find out that he watched “a lot of Modern Family” and thinks of himself as Phil Dunphy. This is fascinating to me. Someone go ask Kobe more questions about Modern Family.
Burton and Taylor (BBC America, 9:00 p.m.) – Like Liz & Dick, but probably better, and starring McNulty from The Wire.
American Horror Story: Coven (FX, 10:00 p.m.) – From TV Guide: “Fiona helps Zoe and Madison deal with a tragedy. Meanwhile, Delphine struggles to adjust to modern life.” Delphine sounds like the name of a shady agricultural conglomerate.
LATE NIGHT GUESTS: Danny McBride and Chiwetel Ejofor on Kimmel; Bill O’Reilly is on Letterman; Robin Williams is on Ferguson; and Ke$ha and Jesse Bering are on Conan. Everyone else is in repeats.
