If there’s one rule in local television it’s that the chyron always tells the truth.

Fox affiliate KTVI in St. Louis didn’t mince words about Rams Chief Operating Officer Kevin Demoff when covering the former St. Louis football franchise’s decision to fire Jeff Fisher on Monday. The station described Demoff as “Rams Chief Operating Officer/Professional Liar” on its evening broadcast.

Multiple viewers made note of the chyron label, sharing it online for those outside the St. Louis television market to enjoy. Some jilted Rams fans even took to mentioning Demoff on Twitter directly to show him what St. Louis thinks of the Rams.

This isn’t the first time Dernoff has been called a professional liar in the media, and Rams fans in St. Louis still think the COO was dishonest to season ticket holders about their plans to move the team to Los Angeles.

The station’s Twitter account seemed to take special joy in Fisher’s firing, retweeting multiple tweets about the move including a typo on ESPN.com that called the team the St. Louis Rams.

There’s clearly still a lot of resentment in St. Louis over the relocation of the Rams, but at least they get to enjoy a bit of schadenfreude today. That’s almost as good as a win on Sunday sometimes.
