Paramore’s Sparkling New Single ‘Hard Times’ Kicks Off Their First Album In Four Years

After a four-year long wait, Paramore is back! Not only did the pop-punk band from Franklin, Tennessee reveal a brand new single, “Hard Times,” today, they also announced that they’ll be debuting a brand new, full length album next month. Titled After Laughter, the new album is set to drop on May 12.

To help satiate their fans in the meantime, Paramore shared the video for their brand new single “Hard Times.” The song is a catchy, ’80s-tinged pop rocker, filled with jangly guitars and ass-shaking choruses. In the video, which you can watch above, singer Hayley Williams, guitarist Taylor Yorke and returning, original drummer Zac Farro, play and dance in a variety of different colorful tableaus. Major early MTV-vibes.

After Laughter was recorded just near their hometown at Nashville’s historic RCA Studio B, the site where other legends like Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton, Waylon Jennings and countless other laid down some of their most beloved hits. It was was produced by frequent Beck collaborator Justin Meldal-Johnsen.
