While the Golden State Warriors are waiting to figure out if Kevin Durant will play in Game 3 of their series against the Portland Trail Blazers, the team received a piece of bad news regarding the health of their coach. According to the Warriors’ PR team, Steve Kerr will not be on the sideline for the game due to an illness.

According to The Mercury News, Kerr started feeling under the weather earlier on Saturday.
The Warriors held their typical gameday shootaround at the Moda Center in Portland on Saturday morning, but one key figure was missing.
Steve Kerr wasn’t feeling well and stayed back at the team hotel. Mike Brown, the team’s lead assistant, served as the fill-in head coach and would do the same should Kerr have to miss Game 3 on Saturday night. The team is hopeful he will be able to coach.
There’s no word on what’s bugging Kerr, or whether his ailment is something that could hold him out for more than Saturday night. As for his replacement, Brown has plenty of experience – he has been the head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers twice, and coached the Lakers for one year and five games from 2011-12. He joined the team during this past offseason, replacing Luke Walton.
Golden State showed in Game 2 that it can beat Portland without Durant. In Game 3, we’ll find out if they can take down the Blazers without Kerr patrolling the sideline.
