What’s On Tonight: ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ Is Here To Scare The Crap Out Of You

The Handmaid’s Tale (Hulu) – A lot has been said about the timeliness of Margaret Atwood’s dystopian novel The Handmaid’s Tale and it’s TV show counterpart since Donald Trump took office. The show, which premieres tomorrow, closely follows the book: a young woman is taken to serve as a handmaid, a breeder, for wealthy, powerful authority figures in a regime that’s taken over the United States and enacted a set of strict, governing religious rules. Will this series scare the sh*t out of you? Probably. Should it? Definitely. The fact that a lot of what happens in Atwood’s book seems more plausible than ever is reason enough to tune in.
