If you know one piece of Pink Floyd trivia that’s not The Wizard Of Oz-related, it’s that The Dark Side Of The Moon stayed on the Billboard charts for an astounding 741 weeks, from 1973 to 1988. It seems that’s a record we won’t see repeated soon, but Drake is carving out his own similar piece of history. A few days ago, the OVO Sound Twitter account reported that Drake has been on the Billboard Hot 100 chart every week for the past eight years, as HotNewHipHop notes.

“Best I Ever Had” made its chart debut on May 2, 2009, and since then, Drizzy has managed to stay on the Hot 100 for one reason or another. On the current chart (for the week of May 27), Drake’s appearances include “Passionfruit” at No. 17, “Portland” at No. 55, and “Gyalchester” at No. 98, as well as his feature on Gucci Mane’s “Both,’ which sits at No. 43.

This puts Drake at 421 consecutive weeks on the Hot 100, which is miles ahead of any other streak: The only other artists to spend more than 200 consecutive weeks on the charts (as of January 22, according to @chartdata on Twitter) are Lil Wayne (326 weeks), Rihanna (216) and Nicki Minaj (207).

While this accolade is staggering, it isn’t exactly surprising. Drake has been a monumental force for a long time, and he was recently named the most popular musician in the world for 2016.
