Despite its ostensible status as an athletic shoe brand, Reebok has spent the last few years building a stable of music’s biggest stars instead of athletes to front its push back to the forefront of the sneaker game. Now, Reebok is unveiling its Spring/Summer 2018 “Always Classic” campaign, pairing iconic silhouettes like the Club C and Freestyle Hi with the talent the brand has amassed.
By highlighting its classic offerings and contrasting them with the fresh energy of stars like Future, Gucci Mane, Cam’ron, Rae Sremmurd, Lil Yachty, and Teyana Taylor, Reebok has ensured that its kicks will become practically ubiquitous in the always fluid streetwear sector. Other stars featured in the campaign include singer Ariana Grande, models Gigi Hadid and Sharina Gutierrez, graffiti artists Felipe Pantone and Sany, and even K-Pop star Somi.
The campaign is built around Reebok Classic’s Franchise Four sneakers: the Freestyle Hi, Classic Leather, Club C and Workout Plus. Each model is paired with a brand ambassador that reflects the character and style of their respective shoe.
Todd Krinsky, General Manager of Reebok Classics, says of the brand’s latest initiative, “Our brand has a history of pushing boundaries and the Always Classic campaign is no different. It’s a modern celebration of pioneers, darers, and authenticators who are reimagining what it means to be Classic on their own terms and are inviting everyone to do the same.”
