It’s been over 20 years since Lee Ann Womack’s self-titled debut album, the record that set her on he way to becoming a country legend. Womack would be forgiven if two decades into her career, she decided to slack off, but that’s not what’s happening here.
Her latest album, 2017’s The Lonely, The Lonesome & The Gone, is a triumph that sees her at her best, and now she’s shared a fresh reminder of that with her fiery new video for “All The Trouble.” In the clip, directed by Claire Marie Vogel and filmed in Los Angeles, Womack glitters in gold, spends time by the bar, and laments her struggles in dramatically shadowy rooms.
Womack previously said that the tracks feels to her like a country blues song:
“That’s so much about what I do, and what I wanted to do from the very beginning, and what I have in me. So much of that is in Houston, and of course, [George] Jones and [Mark] Chesnutt and everybody being from the Beaumont area and all that coming over from the delta, the blues. There’s so much of that in that part of the country, and that’s what I wanted to capture.”
