Super Bowl halftime show veteran Bruno Mars has a few suggestions for the NFL regarding next year’s game in Atlanta, GA, and shared them on his Twitter. While Justin Timberlake’s performance was serviceable — while being only slightly offensive — it seems Bruno would like a little more local flavor in 2019’s festivities, saying that his suggested lineup would “be the best party TV has ever seen.”
“You have the opportunity to celebrate incredible hip-hop artists from Atlanta next year,” he tweeted excitedly. “Outkast, T.I., Gucci, Lil Jon, Jeezy, Jermaine Dupri — just to name a few.” Indeed, Atlanta’s own football team, the Falcons, and other members of the city’s sports community have gotten into the spirit of local celebration, as Atlanta rappers have often been the foremost cheerleaders for their town’s athletes. 2 Chainz, TI, and Usher all showed up at 2017’s Super Bowl, while many fans pushed for Migos to perform that year’s halftime show.

Meanwhile, Atlanta has shown out in other sports as well, such as the repeated appearances of local rap celebrities at Hawks games, including Gucci Mane’s over-the-top marriage proposal. Of course, the right Atlantans would need to get the invite, as proven by 21 Savage’s awkward Hawks game performance.
Outkast, TI, Lil Jon, and Jermaine Dupri have all been instrumental in introducing Atlanta’s unique brand of energy to the world, but more importantly, each has shown that they can bring that same energy to any size stage, with enough hits between them to blow away even the NFL’s normally more conservative crowd.
Think about, Roger Goodell. You’ve got a whole year to make sure you make the right choice. Make Atlanta proud.
