Rodney Hood Left Game 7 With A Left Knee Injury In The Third Quarter

After Denver ran out to an early double-digit advantage, the Blazers managed to claw back into Game 7 in Denver in the third quarter thanks to the incredible play of C.J. McCollum. But just as they cut the lead to five midway through the third, they saw a key contributor go down.

Rodney Hood, who has been a revelation off the bench fro Portland in the series, was coming across halfcourt backwards when he ran square into a Torrey Craig screen and suffered a hyper-extended left knee.

Hood stayed down for a few minutes while he was tended to by the Blazers training staff before being helped off the court and into the locker room, unable to put his full weight on that leg.

Hood in the series has been the Blazers’ best bench contributor and hit what turned out to be the game-winner in the fourth overtime of Game 3 back in Portland. In Game 7, Hood only had six points in his 20 minutes on the floor prior to the injury, but his absence leaves the Blazers needing to find someone else who can give them some productivity on the wing next to McCollum and Damian Lillard.

He was listed as questionable to return to the game with that hyper-extension.
