17-year old Gage Garmo was told he had less than a week to live due to Osteosarcoma — a bone cancer that has already resulted in a lost leg — so his friends and family started the #GetGageGarmoToMeetEminem campaign on Twitter, in hopes of getting the attention of Gage’s idol.
Detroit’s Mojo in the Morning got in on the effort as well, helping to tweet out the message:
Gage doesn't need to meet @Eminem. Eminem needs to meet Gage! We are trying to make it happen #GarmoStrong pic.twitter.com/Y3BIUU2fon

It worked. Eminem secretly visited Gage at his home over the weekend, and TMZ reports “The two spent around an hour together — talking and hanging out.” Eminem’s buddy Royce da 5’9″ confirmed that Eminem had indeed visited Gage, and did so with no fanfare as to stave off a media circus.

Eminem donates to several charities, including the Small Steps Project, which “delivers shoes, hygiene kits and emergency aid to protect children in the dump environment, followed by sustainable solutions to enable children to take small steps off rubbish dumps and into education.”
Hopefully Gage got exactly what he wanted out of his powwow with one of the greatest rappers of all-time.
