At their Television Critics Association farewell panel, the Parks and Recreation team talked about saying goodbye to Leslie Knope and friends. But despite a career that exploded in the last year or so, Chris Pratt swears an early goodbye was never in the cards for him. From Variety:
“I would never f—— leave this show. I’ve been doing this business for 15 years. I realize the things that really matter … are the relationships you have while you’re doing them. I could hope that I could have the good fortune of finding another group of people like this, but I don’t expect I ever will.”
Co-creator Mike Schur also talked about the pressures to create a great finale.
“I tried not to care about finales that I thought of as great or finales that I thought of as terrible,” he said. “It’s less a question of guessing what an audience is going to like and more trying to honor the show and its characters and the plotline. Let the chips fall where they may.”
A great finale shouldn’t be too out of the question, since we know there will be tons of Easter eggs and returning characters when the show ends on Feb. 24.
