Netflix’s new original series Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, which debuts on March 6, is one of the biggest mysteries of the new television season, as the Tina Fey and Robert Carlock series raised plenty of red flags when it was dumped by NBC. Also, the plot doesn’t exactly fall under the “traditional” tag, as the show tells the story of a girl, rescued from an apocalypse cult’s bomb shelter, trying to adapt to a normal life in the big city. However, it comes to us from the people who created 30 Rock, which some handsome bloggers believe is the greatest show ever made, and it stars The Office’s Ellie Kemper, whom people love to refer to as “adorable.” Also, this new trailer reveals that it’s a lot happier and brighter than some people expected.
For the diehard 30 Rock fans out there, we’re basically getting Jenna Maroney back with Jane Krakowski’s wealthy “Upper East Side socialite,” and Broadway actor Tituss Burgess, who played D’Fwan on 30 Rock, stars as Kimmy’s roommate. And for the absurdly addicted 30 Rock fans, you should also recognize a certain construction worker as well. Let’s hope this series is littered with cameos like that. Or, you know, that it’s just plain good on its own.
