The Atlanta Hawks’ 19-game winning streak was snapped last night. And if you’re to believe the team’s twitter account, that remarkable run wouldn’t have been possible without an unparalleled level of support from its fans. In a typically clever bit of social media engagement via the helping hand of Spotify, the Hawks thanked their followers for spurring the streak with a carefully selected playlist of songs.

Here’s a transcription of the team’s hidden letter to its fans that’s a bit easier on the eyes:
Dear Atlanta,
We can’t stop thinking about you. Thank you for this support over this incredible season of dreams. The streak may be over, nonetheless we are just getting started. We love you. Let’s go make more memories together.
Love,
The Hawks
Pretty cool.
The city of Atlanta hasn’t exactly embraced the Hawks over the years. Home games at Phillips Arena were notably quiet due in most part to an alarming number of seats going unfilled.
But no longer. Atlantans embraced their history-making team over the past six weeks, and seem primed to continue doing so as long as the Hawks stay successful. While that doesn’t seem like a lot to ask, it’s a major step in the right direction for a city that gave marginal support to its local NBA franchise during the mid- and late- 2000s.
And obviously, gestures like this on social media are undoubtedly helping, too.
