BROOKLYN—Warriors sixth man and $12 million-a-year defensive whiz Andre Iguodala got to watch his teammates compete against each other in the final round of the 2015 Three-Point Shootout. His take on which of the duo is a better shooter, might ruffle some Curry acolytes, but it shows just how much this Warriors team cares about one another.
Stephen Curry‘s final-round score of 27 satiated the crowd’s obvious hunger for him to catch fire in the final minutes of the strongest three-point field in NBA history. He was the favorite, and he delivered after knocking down 13 of his last 14 final round shots.
You’d think he would have been comfortable he had clinched with that sort of performance. Nope.
“Klay Thompson is right behind me. No way,” Curry said when asked if he thought he had won it after his final round 27.
“I knew I had done pretty well, obviously, finishing strong with that second round, continued Steph. “But Klay, I looked in his eyes. He’s obviously capable of scoring 37 in a basketball quarter, so he can probably knock down a couple threes and get a high number 27.”
Iguodala, meanwhile, congratulated Steph and called him the second greatest shooter ever, giving his other teammate the top spot on that list:

The Splash Brothers are on top of the world tonight, and Iggy’s public compliment for his teammate — after he was bested by another teammate — shows how tight they are as a group.
“It was kind of cool for all of Dub Nation to have a 50/50 shot of one of us winning and bringing it back to the Bay Area,” Steph said.
“Couldn’t have planned that one any better.”
Curry’s win was more about karma than any discernible differences with Klay, who led the field with the top first-round score. Golden State’s All-Star point guard got some retribution from Dame Fortuna after she snatched away some kicks from him on Friday the 13th.
