So much for all the speculation about Angelina Jolie taking a crack at Wonder Woman. Just two days after Michelle MacLaren departed the project due to “creative differences,” Warner Bros. hired Monster director Patty Jenkins.
According to Deadline:
That was quick. The invisible plane already has a new pilot, as sources have confirmed to Deadline that Monster director Patty Jenkins has been tapped to for Warner Bros’ high-profile Wonder Woman pic.
On the one hand, Warner Bros. was quick to replace MacLaren with another high-profile director. On the other, Jenkins is an interesting choice considering her departure from Thor: The Dark World and the nature of MacLaren’s outing. Hopefully, the nonexistence of a talking tiger was a part of the deal when Warner Bros. signed Jenkins on.
At least Jolie still has a shot at Captain Marvel.
