Kevin Smith revealed on Monday that his sequel to Mallrats will officially be called Mallbrats. The director took to Facebook and not only revealed the title of the movie, but also shared a picture of the film’s script accompanied by a heartfelt note:
The “Jim” he refers to is one of the original producers behind Mallrats. James Jacks passed away last year and this long awaited sequel looks to be a tribute to Smith’s old friend. Mallbrats will begin filming in 2016 and bring back most of the original cast — including Jason Lee, Shannen Doherty, Michael Rooker, Jason Mewes, and Ethan Suplee.
