Fresh off the news that she’ll be portraying the Notorious RBG in On the Basis of Sex comes word that Natalie Portman will play another American icon, Jackie O, in Jackie. The film, produced by Black Swan‘s Darren Aronofsky, is about the first four days of Jackie Kennedy’s life after JFK was assassinated, when she “becomes an icon, but has lost everything.”
Chilean film-maker Pablo Larraín will direct Jackie, which is being pitched to investors at the Cannes film market…The film is already being tipped as the most high profile of the dozens of fledgling projects looking for backing at this year’s market. (Via)
Congratulations are in order for Portman, who just became the first American citizen to go from the president’s daughter to Senator of Naboo to the president’s wife.
