Bad news if you purchased a Lululemon item with a drawstring before 2014. The company’s recalling more than 300,000 items because the strings have the potential to cause grievous injury to your fragile body.
The athletic-gear company reports that the products affected are “Lululemon tops with elastic drawcords that have hard metal or plastic tips in the neck area, primarily sold prior to 2014.” The products were sold at Lululemon stores, at www.lululemon.com, and select retail partners between January 2008 and December 2014. The drawstring tips can “snap back and make contact with guests’ faces” if they are stretched or pulled.
Well, that’s a good way to get someone to never exercise again. You go to yoga for a calming retreat and then put an eye out with drawcords that attack at will.
Lululemon claims that there haven’t been any injuries yet, but they want to get the items back now before someone does accidentally hurt themselves (and sues). Those people who would never even consider parting with their Lululemon merchandise (they’re out there) have been strongly encouraged to remove the cords from their clothing by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and request new ones, or just never wear the top again.
